Last Post On This Blog - Moving To Tumblr

In the interests of better page loading time, accessibility and navigability for my readers this is my last post on blogger. I am now going to be blogging at my new address:
lettersfromtaiwan.tumblr.com
My new logo is:
I will still be checking into to blogger everyday to catch all my favourite posts and my old site will remain in place. Please can you amend your links to my site so they point to my new home.

A huge thanks to everyone who has followed me and reblogged my posts at this site. I hope you will be able to just as easily follow me on Tumblr.

Best wishes and Jiayo! to all.

  1. Hi Ben,

Is there a way you can make your tumblr rss feed show entire posts rather than just 1st sentences? It would be really helpful since I (and probably others too) enjoy reading your blog in Google Reader.
    Thanks

  2. Ben, I understand there are some frustrations with using Blogger. However, I strongly suggest you move to WordPress. It is a much better platform that allows for greater customisation. (Even in the free WordPress.com version.) I would be happy to discuss it with you and give you any help.

  3. Vision: I will look into the issue with the feeds. I had a quick look this morning and set up a feedburner account but it seems to limit the feed automatically. Will check further.

Dave: Is there a particular reason why tumbl may be a bad choice? The main reason I have switched over is to simplify things and use a more professional style suitable for quick reblogging. Tumblr does have its limitations but is there something missing in Tumblr that would help me keep active and connected to the blogging community in Taiwan?

  4. Ben, Tumblr is basically designed for quick and easy posting. WordPress is a more powerful platform that can be customised. There are several tools you can use to make posting to WordPress quick and easy like Tumblr. I guess it's a choice between simplicity or something that gives you more options. If you are happy just to put your posts out there for people to read then Tumblr will be OK, but it limits your options if you want to do something more.
